2nd October 2008, at BITS Pilani Goa campus marked the beginning of 4 unforgettable days of exciting technical, cultural and sporting competitions , valiant efforts by participants and exhilarating Inter-hostel rivalry.
It was the start of Zephyr-The Annual Inter-Hostel festival of BITS Pilani Goa Campus. The opening ceremony presided over by the Chief Guest Mr. Subhash Bhowmick, former East Bengal Club football coach and presently technical director at Salgaocar Sporting Club and our Honorable Director Prof K.E Raman along with our Incharge Cultural Dr. NN Ghosh. They were accompanied by Saurabh Agarwal and Siddhart Patwari, President and General Secretary of the Council of Student Affairs respectively. The college team which recently won the Marathi Street Play State level competition was also honored. The innaugration saw a host of performances ranging from music to mime. The wacky hostel videos set the mood for the biggest inter-hostel festival in the history of the campus. The Inclusion of technical and sporting events along with the cultural competition makes Zephyr,08 different for the previous ones . From art to coding to marathon, this Zephyr with 36 events spanning has something for everyone to participate in.
Zephyr literally meaning ‘a gentle breeze before a storm’ provides the basic stimulus which eventually culminates into our National Technical, Culural and Sports festivals namely QUARK,WAVES and SPREE respectively which attract participation from colleges all over India.
