Hoedown Madness at Nimlok!

PRLog (Press Release) – Oct 02, 2008 – The Nimlok staff social committee arranged the event for staff and family members to enjoy.  Guests could also come along for a small fee.  There were over 60 people at the event.

A variety of food was served from the Nimlok BBQ free of charge for all attendees.  The Bucking Bronco caused mayhem as nearly everyone that tried it could not stay on longer than 60 seconds!  If you wanted to laugh out loud, the bucking bronco was definitely the place to stand.

The ‘Cowboy Run’ bouncy castle was a hit with the children and was in constant use throughout the whole day.  Children were racing around the area from the bouncy castle to the bucking bronco and then onto kiddie racing.  The Sack, Egg & Spoon and Horse racing went down a treat with the children and it was a great deal of fun to watch too.

The greatest challenge of the day came when Nimlok’s Managing Director, Tim Perutz, announced he would be putting himself into the stocks for people to throw wet sponges at him.  The social committee had to form a queuing system to control the crowds of people!  Tim commented:  “We work hard at Nimlok and it is important that we play hard too.  The social committee have done a great job in organising this event and we had a really encouraging turnout.  On top of that, the sun was shining so all in all a very enjoyable, fun packed day”.

Nimlok support a charity each year and this year it is the Stroke Association.  Even though the event was not specifically intended to raise funds for the Nimlok charity, the social committee decided that all proceeds from the Hoedown were to be sent to the Stroke Association.  Over £160.00 was raised from the guest ticket sales, the quiz sheets and the hobby horse sales alone.

4 of the hobby horses used in the kiddie races were donated to the local day nursery in Raunds so children could enjoy them.  The remainder were sold on the day to various children that didn’t want to part with them after racing!

Gerald Perutz, Chairman of the Nimlok Group, attended the hoedown and stated:  “I really enjoyed seeing everyone have fun, it is good that we can enjoy family days like this despite being a hard working business.  Long may it continue”.
