Nano-positioning High Loads With High Dynamics

Piezosystem jena, one of the leading providers of nano positioning systems has just expanded its product range, and can now offer even more solutions for customer applications.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Aug 11, 2008 – With immediate effect high power actuators are available, along with our standard long-lasting low voltage piezo elements.

This new series provides a travel of up to 260 microns. The major advantage of these actuators is the high load, which can be now easily handled. Positioning applications with a load of up to 70,000 N, a tensile force of maximum 6,000 N and the force generation up to 50,000 N can be accomplished.  Obtaining a resolution of less than one nanometer the new systems combine power and precision. The resolution of the actuator is only limited by the stability (e.g. noise) of the electronics. The resonant frequency of up to 60 kHz, and extreme high accelerations of >100.000 m/sec² allow for the use in many highly dynamic applications.

The operating temperature range of -60°C to +120°C enables the system to work reliably at extreme temperatures. As an option we can also deliver a low temperature or high vacuum design.

For positioning tasks which require the highest accuracy the actuators can be equipped with a feedback system (strain gauge).

All the characteristics of this new series allows piezosystem jena to offer now products to many other applications, e.g.

-   active vibration cancellation
-   sensor testing
-       positioning
-   stabilization
-   shock wave generation
-   test and acceleration damping
-   fuel junction

as well as all the various applications that require positioning of high loads, and extreme accelerations respectively.
