Open Source CMS developer announces hire of Edward Stone, Web Development Manager at Yahoo! Europe

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Mar 30, 2008 – Squiz, developer of leading open source content management system (CMS) MySource Matrix, today announced the appointment of Edward Stone as Technical Project Manager based in its London offices. Stone joins Squiz from Yahoo! Europe, where he was employed as Web Development Manager, working across a number of key areas such as Search, Local Search, Answers and Maps.

The high profile appointment is crucial thanks to Squiz's rapid growth in the UK. In the past 12 months the company's revenue has doubled and the average client value has tripled. This has created demand for more comprehensive project management, technical expertise and experienced staff able to report at Board level.

"The clients we've brought on board recently like Digital UK, Boots and Informa have helped raise us to the next level. They require nothing short of excellence - from the product itself through to the staff they have access to and the processes we use to deliver the sevices required" explains Stephen Morgan, Managing Director of Squiz UK. "As a result of working with these organisations we've come a long way in a short space of time but we need experienced staff to keep this momentum going. Ed's appointment couldn't have come at a better time as we look to cement our place in the top tier of the UK content management marketplace."

As an open source vendor, Squiz doesn't charge any software licensing fees. All revenues are derived from delivering the services that organisations require to implement the content management system. In practice this means that every pound that used to be spent on a license fee can instead be used to purchase the services required to make the project a success.

"Open Source is now being readily adopted in the commercial marketplace," explains Morgan, "and Squiz is uniqely placed. We've been around over 10 years. We provide a stability, growth and profitability record that few commerical vendors can match. We're excited that Ed has chosen to join our team and look forward to continuing to deliver the people and services that make content management projects work."
