FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Feb 13, 2008 – Studies confirm AEGIS Treatment in Hospital Isolation room reduces MRSA Bacterial load on coated surface significantly.

Infection with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus ("MRSA") has become endemic in hospitals around the world despite concerted efforts by infection control professionals to reduce its burden. Nearly all MRSA infections are acquired in hospital and many of which are potentially preventable. S. aureus and MRSA can survive on dry surfaces for prolonged periods, and many studies have shown that they can contaminate surfaces and equipment touched by hospital staff and patients. If hospital cleaning is not comprehensive enough, furniture and medical equipment may become sources of MRSA transmission.

Studies have proven that surfaces coated with AEGIS Microbe Shield have successfully inhibited the growth of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. (Report available on request)
