Aegis Asia Launch Antimicrobial Treatment Services For Indoor Environments To Reduce Biological Load

The benefits of the ÆGIS Microbe Shield Program prevention and remediation tactics transcend the reduction of risks of nosocomial infections.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Feb 10, 2008 – Aegis Asia provide antimicrobial treatment to reduce biological loads in indoor environments.

Technology that Inhibits microbial growth

The active ingredient in ÆGIS Microbe Shield forms a colorless, odorless, positively charged polymer that chemically bonds to the treated surface. You could think of it as a layer of electrically charged swords. When a microorganism comes in contact with the treated surface, the quaternary amine “sword” punctures the cell membrane and the electrical charge “shocks” the cell. Since nothing is transferred to the now dead cell, the antimicrobial doesn’t lose strength and the “sword” is ready for the next cell to contact it.

Safe to humans and the environment

The AEGIS Microbe Shield is environmentally friendly and user friendly antimicrobial. No heavy metals means no worries. The AEGIS Microbe Shield addresses the two main ecological concerns associated with leaching antimicrobials: bleeding harmful toxins into the environment and the generation of adaptive organisms (super bugs). The mode of action of the AEGIS Microbe Shield is physical and its molecular makeup alleviates these concerns.

Provides long term protection

The ÆGIS Microbe Shield chemistry offers a multifold benefit, where not only the war against microbes is addressed, but coupled with a treatment of a bonded non leaching antimicrobial which will give long term protection by inhibiting the growth of pathogenic micro organisms in hospital environment even after repeated cleaning. Because it does not dissipate, it retains its full antimicrobial strength for the life of the surface to which it is applied.

ÆGIS works 24 hr, 7 days a week, 365 days

The ÆGIS treatment starts the Microbicidal action as soon as the micro organisms land on the surface and prevent the growth. Regular cleaning procedures are paramount in all hygiene sensitive environments; however what happens to the bio loading on surfaces in between cleans?  The ÆGIS Program is your best defense on guard 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days. ÆGIS value adds in supplementing your existing efforts in infection control and providing your second line of defense.

Reduces the need of using toxic chemicals because microbial pollutants are kept under control

The needs to use higher dose or stronger chemicals are reduced as the microbial pollutants are kept in under control. Aegis Microbe Shield is the clear solution to microbial control.

Providing Self-Cleaning Surfaces

Surface contamination can adversely affect cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene. Controlling pathogenic bacteria and contaminants is a top priority for everyone, and especially so for healthcare facilities managers who know that keeping surfaces clean and eliminating problematic bacteria are challenging tasks. While common sanitizers and cleaners provide some benefit, they are not always effective and bacteria can develop resistance to them. Today, technology is available to guard against contamination of surfaces in indoor environments through the use of engineered antimicrobial solutions that inhibit the growth of microbes.

The treatment also provides protection and reduction of microbial doses in the out-of-
sight out-of-mind places that do not get cleaning and disinfection attention or are not serviced routinely or at all.

Life Cycle Cost Savings

The unparalleled durability of out treated surface helps extend the maintenance cycle and minimize all related material, labour and shut down costs.
