Max Power Blue-Violet Laser Diodes

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Jan 18, 2008 – Photonic Products, the UK optoelectronics device manufacturer and laser diode specialist,  is pleased to announce that Sanyo’s tiny blue-violet laser diodes are now available in industrial strength and power: three new 405nm laser diodes which offer 20mW, 45mW or a massive 85mW optical output power, the highest power available in a single mode laser diode with an internal monitor photodiode.

This internal monitor photodiode, which can be used to accurately stabilise and control the optical output power, plus their stable beam structure, lower noise and lower current consumption, enables these new Sanyo blue-violet laser diodes to offer the performance required for critically demanding industrial and medical applications such as biomedical instrumentation, medical imaging, fluorescence sensing, high-resolution printing, advanced DVD and industrial alignment.

The three 405nm wavelength Sanyo laser diodes are DL-4146-101S which gives 20mW optical output power with a very low threshold current of 26mA, typical operating current of 35mA, operating voltage of 4.8V and monitoring output current of 0.2mA; DL-5146-101S that offers 45mW power with a threshold current of 35mA, typical operating current of 70mA, operating voltage of 5.2V and monitoring output current of 0.3mA, and the remarkable DL-7146-101S laser diode which gives 85mW output power with a threshold current of 45mA, typical operating current of 110mA, operating voltage of 5.4V and monitoring output current of 0.3mA.

All three laser diodes have an internal monitor photodiode, a tiny package size of 5.6mm and operate at a temperature of 0 degrees Centigrade to +75 degrees Centigrade.

About SANYO
SANYO currently markets AlGaAs infrared laser diodes in the 780 - 830 nm wavelength, as well as AlGaInP based red laser diodes in the 635 - 675 nm wavelength. SANYO achieved the world’s first 635 nm AlGaInP laser diode. The low operating current and high operating temperature are realised by using misoriented substrate and MQW (Strain compensated) active layer. With unique structures developed by SANYO, these laser diodes are highly rated in a broad range of applications including compact discs, CD-R/RW, DVD systems, bar code scanners, laser pointers and printers.

The Photonics Business Division of Tottori SANYO Electric Co., Ltd takes pride in providing its customers with the highest quality Laser Diode and LED products possible. All Laser Diode and LED products are ISO 9001 compliant in accordance with IECQ (IEC Quality Assessment for Electronic Components).

SANYO is committed to providing new solutions by employing its proprietary technologies in creative ways, based on its Brand Vision 'Think GAIA'.  The Photonics Business Division of Tottori SANYO Electric Co., Ltd has ISO 14001 Environmental Management System approval for the development, design, manufacture and sales or optoelectronic devices.

All SANYO laser diodes comply with RoHS Directive.
