FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Jan 15, 2007 – Joensuu, FINLAND – January 15, 2007 – Blancco Ltd. the leading provider of professional data destruction and computer reuse management solutions has just released Blancco – Stealth Cleaner 2.0, a technologically advanced erasure software. It is highly secure and is designed to safeguard your data if your laptop or PC is lost or stolen. The software is ideal for securing logistics, a critical phase in the equipment lifecycle where an alarming number of PCs are misplaced or stolen. The unique automatic lock and erase function renders data recovery impossible ensuring maximum security.

”Until recently the market for technology to remotely destroy data barely existed. The common practice by most organizations has been to encrypt sensitive data but companies are now demanding even tighter security. Data leaks pose a huge threat to an organization and can result in lost revenue, loss in consumer confidence and exposure to legal and financial battles,” says Mr. Kim Väisänen, Managing Director of Blancco Ltd.

With the recent spate of high profile laptop theft cases, companies are waking up to the risk of their data falling into the wrong hands. Mounting federal and state regulations have also put pressure on companies to take adequate steps to properly destroy data. However, data leaks continue to wreak havoc in many organsiations.

Blancco – Stealth Cleaner has been uniquely designed to offer complete security by mitigating the risk of data leaks if a PC has been lost or stolen. It has the unique ability to lock the hard drive, erase the hard drive or perform both, depending on the user settings. These actions are activated when an incorrect password is entered. Blancco – Stealth Cleaner can also be programmed to be executed on a specific date, a useful feature when retired IT assets are scheduled to be transported to a recycling facility on a certain date. The software can be simultaneously installed in several PCs within seconds, making it far more effective and efficient than encryption.

”In the leasing industry securing data on retired or end-of-lease PCs is imperative. Our clients depend on us to protect their sensitive data throughout the chain-of-custody process. By installing Blancco – Stealth Cleaner we are able to eliminate the risk of data leaks and give our clients complete peace of mind,” says Mr. Jouko Poranen, Chief Information Officer of 3 Step IT, an international, brand-independent service company that manages the IT equipment lifecycle.
