Al Prodgers has international performances under his belt, including in London with the hit show "Stand Up South Africa" and late in 2006 did a stint of shows in Abu Dhabi. Any one who has seen Al`s work leaves the room feeling positive and smiling from ear to ear, not to mention the South African Patriotism the performer shows. He is the only South African Stand up comedian that is a registered member of the proudly South African campaign.
Stand Up has become Al`s life, and the loss of hair shows how daunting some stage performances can be, but the witty, quick headed, word smith offers a second tallent which has become a hobby, his acting experiences are recognised and professional in shows such as the hit series "Generations"
"Of course I`ll respect you in the morning!" is a film that offers Stand up at it`s fullest and Al Prodgers produces a solid hour of his sense of humour, on the movie, when watchng the movie, I was most facinated by the audience interaction, smooth timing and reliable delivery that Al caries with his well writen and open minded material. It is said that the art of stand up is the conversation that is held between the comedian and the audience and if thats true then this is truly magnificent work.
The film also introduces a fresh, young tallent as the introductory performance by the name of Kedibone Muluadzi, who offers what he calls Nubreed comedy and well new it definately is, at first I thought is this youngster on the DVD as a token BEE performer? Has Affirmative action gone this far, and with in a minute of Kedibone`s performance I was hooked, this chap is on this DVD because he is that good, I can`t begin to tell you how I laughed at his take on South African politics and social situations.
Kedibone has spent the past four years perfecting his comedic skill, and what a fantastic job he has done of that, he is intellegently funny and timed with persition. All I can say is that these two performers are the perfect choice, for an early 2007 DVD release, and I have noticed that clips of the DVD are allready hitting the internet highway in places like You tube.
Recomended watching in a group, when a laugh is what you need, I give this release 10 out of 10. "Of Course I will respect you in the morning is available from http:www.powercomedy.com on a current pre release at R120.00
