Dates: Sept. 30-Oct. 4, 2006 and Oct. 5-9, 2006

Accommodations:  Azulik (writers on couples/romance assignments) and Zahra (writers on family/adventure assignments). **Media rate for publications not accepting comps available upon request.

Inclusions:  Four nights accommodation in Azulik or Zahra (depending on nature of assignment), daily breakfast at either Copal or Zahra restaurant for writers only, transportation to Tulum from the Cancun International Airport (CUN), one Mayan bath treatment or one Mayan clay massage for the writer, one hour in the floatation tank for the writer (additional courtesy hours may be available upon request), one ticket to the temazcal ceremony, indigenous sweat lodge for the writer, daily hatha yoga classes for the writer and guest, snorkel gear and kayak rental for the writer and guest. Travel companions and families (Zahra only) are welcome in shared accommodations with writer but must pay meals and other services.

Exclusions: Airfare, meals and spa treatments for guests sharing same room as working writer, additional spa treatments, gratuities, additional tours of area.

Journalist Requirements: Applicable to writers with assignments for major print publications (100,000 circulation or more). Writers for spa, wellness and lifestyle publications, family travel, adventure, Riviera Maya and Tulum in general, and romance, wedding and honeymoon magazines will be given priority. Journalists will be considered based on the criteria of national exposure, circulation of publication, and Letter of Assignment. Freelancers with more than one confirmed assignment for publications matching EcoTulum Resorts & Spa target market will also be given preference.

•Nature of assignment (word count, estimated date of publication, photo inclusion)
•Publication details (circulation, frequency of publication, readership demographic)
•Letter of assignment from editor confirming story and/or editor’s name and  contact information
•Specify date and lodging preference (depending on assignment focus)

Details: Writers on assignment are invited to the delicious white sand beaches of Tulum along Mexico’s Riviera Maya just 1.5 hours south of Cancun to attend in EcoTulum Resorts & Spa’s first ever Healers’ Conference.

From Sept. 30 to Oct. 8, 2006 soul seekers and those interested in the power of healing converge upon EcoTulum’s three rustic properties – 15 villa Azulik, 49 cabin Cabanas Copal and 22 room Zahra – to take part in a program of daily activities, ritual ceremonies and a variety of holistic demonstrations and classes.

Attendees discover the magical surroundings of EcoTulum while sampling some of the signature holistic treatments offered at Maya Spa, the onsite wellness center serving all properties. In downtime, explore the reefs offshore, snorkel the area’s cenotes, shop the town markets, relax on the white sand beaches and soak up the energy of the ancient Tulum ruins.
